Information for consumers

1. Remuneration for the provision of legal services

If you are a consumer in relation to us in connection with the provision of legal services, please note that we are entitled to remuneration for the provision of legal services and may require you to pay a reasonable advance payment, even before the provision of legal services commences.

Remuneration for the provision of legal services may be determined as follows:

  • As time-based, task-based, proportional, flat-rate, or in another manner, as agreed with the client. Unless agreed otherwise, the agreed remuneration shall be considered remuneration for one hour of legal services;
  • Unless agreed otherwise by and between us and the client, time-based remuneration shall be charged for every 15 minutes of legal services provided;
  • Our remuneration for the provision of legal services may be increased by the costs of administrative tasks related to the provision of legal services, such as printing, keeping relevant records, communication, and other administrative services. Furthermore, the client shall also reimburse the law firm for any reasonable expenses incurred for court, administrative, and other fees paid in connection with the provision of legal services by the law firm to the client;
  • VAT will be added to our remuneration and out-of-pocket expenses at the corresponding rate.

Unless agreed otherwise by and between us, we always charge our remuneration for the provision of legal services in the calendar month following the month in which the legal services were provided.

2. Alternative dispute resolution

  • If a client is a consumer, such client has the right to alternative resolution of disputes with the law firm arising from the contract for the provision of legal services. The competent authority for alternative dispute resolution between the client and the law firm is the Czech Bar Association, Prague branch: Národní 16, 110 00 Prague 1; Brno branch: nám. Svobody 84/15, 602 00 Brno, epodatelna@cak.cz, data mailbox ID: n69admd;
  • Alternative dispute resolution is initiated by the client by a request submitted to the Czech Bar Association within one year of the previous exercise of their rights with the law firm. Before submitting the request to the Czech Bar Association, the client is required to contact the law firm with their claim first and negotiate an amicable solution.
